Restock Announcement
【Wood paper food wrap】is now back in stock.

This is kyōgi, a thin wooden sheet made from the gently fragrant Shinanoki (Japanese linden) grown in Hokkaido.
Traditionally crafted by shaving conifer wood into delicate sheets,
kyōgi has been used since around the 7th century, originally as a material for writing Buddhist sutras.
Over time, it came to be used for wrapping portable foods and for preserving fish and meat.
Just like an ohitsu rice keeper, it gently absorbs excess moisture while offering excellent breathability and natural antibacterial properties.
Placing it at the bottom of a bento box helps control unwanted moisture and keeps each ingredient’s flavor intact.
And when you wrap rice balls in this traditional wood sheet, you’ll be amazed at how beautifully they turn out.
