This tote bag was crafted by the members of “Knitting from Tohoku,” based in Tōno City, Iwate Prefecture.

It is an original product by Matsunoya.

The bag is knitted using a twisted yarn that combines the firm texture of jute with the softness of linen.

The linen portion is treated with shea butter and olive oil,

giving it a gentle feel against the skin and making it comfortable to carry.

Sized to comfortably carry your smartphone and everyday essentials.

About “Knitting from Tohoku”

“Knitting from Tohoku” began in the days immediately following the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.

At a time when many had nearly lost their will to move forward,

a volunteer-led knitting workshop became a place of gathering,

and eventually a source of hope. Over time, the members grew and developed their skills, becoming professional knitters.

Matsunoya commissions product creation from these artisans with the desire to share their precise and heartfelt hand‑knitting techniques with people across Japan.
